Welcome to Digital Gods. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of https://digital-gods.dev and related website services, including user accounts, the Digital Gods Online Store (/shop/), digital publications, physical merchandise, and the online reading library.

By using the relevant services or placing an order, you agree to the terms applicable to those activities. Nothing in these Terms limits rights granted to consumers under mandatory European Union or Croatian law (including the Croatian Consumer Protection Act and the Civil Obligations Act).

2. Website Operator and Seller

This website and online store are operated under the Digital Gods name by:

Where Digital Gods sells products directly through its online store (/shop/), the seller is the legal entity identified above unless the product page clearly identifies an external platform (such as Steam).

3. Our Services

Digital Gods develops and publishes interactive entertainment and creative content. Our website provides:

  • Information about our games and development projects (including The Dark World, Enzolart, and The Dark World: Untold);
  • Original fiction, lore, books, and online reading experiences (including The Seven Red Witnesses and the Book of Blood);
  • Original music and soundtrack-related content (Orchestra of the Damned);
  • Official merchandise and digital products in the Digital Gods Online Store (/shop/);
  • User account creation and account management (/account/);
  • Steam account linking and license verification;
  • Digital library access and reading progress synchronization (/library/);
  • Journal dispatches, press resources, support FAQ, and contact services.

These Terms cover services provided directly through our website. Games, DLC, and purchases on external platforms (such as Steam) are governed by the applicable platform agreements.

4. Accounts and Eligibility

Certain website features require a registered Digital Gods account or a verified Steam account. When creating or using an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate registration and billing information;
  • Keep your credentials secure and confidential;
  • Avoid sharing or transferring your account to unauthorized parties;
  • Notify us promptly at support@digital-gods.dev if you suspect unauthorized account access;
  • Use our services lawfully and without compromising their security.

Users who are not legally able to enter a purchase contract must obtain the appropriate authorization from a parent or legal guardian. We may restrict accounts involved in verified fraud, serious security violations, or unlawful activity, using proportionate measures and respecting applicable consumer rights.

5. Steam Integration

Digital Gods supports Steam authentication and license verification for eligible content via Valve's official Steam OpenID 2.0 service. We never request or receive your Steam password.

The Dark World and The Seven Red Witnesses

  • Base Game Owners (Steam AppID 1481060): Eligible owners of The Dark World on Steam can access the Cover, Impressum, Prologue, and Chapters 1-5 (Act I) of The Seven Red Witnesses through our online Book Reader.
  • Steam DLC Owners (Steam AppID 4825390): Eligible owners of The Seven Red Witnesses DLC on Steam can access the complete 55-part digital book edition.
  • Direct Store Customers (5,99 €): Customers who purchase The Seven Red Witnesses - Digital Edition directly through the Digital Gods Online Store (/shop/) receive full online access to all 55 parts through their Digital Gods account without requiring Steam or ownership of the base game.

Steam license verification does not transfer ownership of a Steam product to Digital Gods, and linking or unlinking accounts does not alter your ownership rights on Steam. Steam purchases and refund requests made through Steam are governed by Valve's applicable terms and refund procedures.

6. Digital Gods Online Store

Our official store (https://digital-gods.dev/shop/) offers digital books, physical collector books, apparel, posters, and studio merchandise. Each product listing identifies its essential features, purchase price, delivery method, technical requirements, and relevant options before checkout.

Prices and Currency

All prices in the Digital Gods Online Store are displayed and processed in Euros (EUR / €), the official currency of the Republic of Croatia. Applicable taxes and any delivery charges for physical goods are disclosed before you confirm an order. Digital-only orders incur zero shipping charges.

Ordering

Customers can review their shopping cart (/cart/) and correct order information before placing an order. Submitting an order with an obligation to pay authorizes the payment process for that order. An order confirmation is provided on screen and by email. The sales contract is concluded when the order is accepted and confirmed.

Payments

Payments are processed securely by Stripe (via the official WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway, supporting credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link) or another payment method expressly displayed at checkout. Digital Gods never requires customers to provide full payment card details directly to our support team.

7. Digital Products and Delivery

For The Seven Red Witnesses - Digital Edition (5,99 €), the product is supplied as immediate authenticated access to our online Book Reader library (/library/) rather than as a downloadable PDF or EPUB file, unless explicitly stated otherwise on the product page. Purchasing online reader access does not grant permission to redistribute or export the publication.

Digital products are unlocked automatically upon confirmed payment. If a purchased digital product is not supplied or cannot be accessed, please contact support@digital-gods.dev so that the issue can be investigated and resolved promptly.

8. Reading Library and Digital Entitlements

The Digital Gods online reader associates books, chapters, and reading progress with an eligible account. Entitlements may originate from:

  • A completed direct-store purchase on digital-gods.dev/shop/;
  • Eligible Steam base game ownership (AppID 1481060 - Prologue & Chapters 1-5);
  • Eligible Steam DLC ownership (AppID 4825390 - Full Book);
  • An authorized promotional or complimentary studio entitlement.

Entitlements are personal and synchronized across supported devices and sessions. Where any technical issue affects purchased content, applicable contractual and statutory consumer remedies remain available.

9. Intellectual Property and Digital Licenses

Digital Gods retains all intellectual property rights in its games, books, manuscripts, music, artwork, software, characters, and website content - including The Dark World, The Seven Red Witnesses, Book of Blood, Enzolart, and Orchestra of the Damned.

Purchasing digital content grants a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and read that content for private, non-commercial purposes. Without authorization, users may not:

  • Redistribute, sell, scrape, or publish protected digital content;
  • Circumvent technical access controls;
  • Share paid account access with unauthorized parties;
  • Upload complete publications or copyrighted assets to third-party distribution platforms.

10. Physical Merchandise

Where physical merchandise (apparel, posters, or hardcover editions) is available, its price, variations, and delivery arrangements are presented before purchase, and shipping charges are disclosed during checkout. Physical apparel and print items may be manufactured and fulfilled in partnership with Printful and delivered via tracked carriers. If an order cannot be fulfilled as agreed, Digital Gods will contact the customer and provide appropriate statutory options. Customers retain all statutory rights regarding delayed delivery, defective goods, and non-conforming products.

11. Consumer Right of Withdrawal (14-Day Cooling-Off Period)

Consumers in the European Union purchasing directly through our online store have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason, subject to the statutory rules and exceptions below (Directive 2011/83/EU and the Croatian Consumer Protection Act).

Physical products

For eligible physical goods, the 14-day withdrawal period begins when you (or a designated third party other than the carrier) receive physical possession of the goods. Unless the goods are defective, you bear the direct cost of returning physical goods. Refunds are processed within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice (subject to receipt of the returned goods or proof of return shipment). Statutory exceptions apply to custom-made or clearly personalized goods.

Digital content supplied electronically

For digital content not supplied on a tangible medium (such as immediate online access to The Seven Red Witnesses - Digital Edition in the Digital Gods Book Reader), the 14-day withdrawal period begins when the contract is concluded. Where you request immediate digital delivery before the 14-day withdrawal period expires, the statutory withdrawal right is lost once digital performance/access begins, provided that:

  1. You gave your prior express consent at checkout (via the dedicated digital delivery checkbox, separate from accepting these Terms) to begin delivery during the 14-day withdrawal period;
  2. You acknowledged that you thereby lose your statutory right of withdrawal once access/delivery begins; and
  3. Digital Gods provided the required contractual confirmation on a durable medium (by email).

If these legal conditions are not fulfilled, your statutory withdrawal rights remain unaffected.

12. Defective Products, Non-Delivery and Statutory Remedies

The rules concerning withdrawal without giving a reason are separate from your statutory rights when products or digital content are defective, non-conforming, or not delivered. If purchased digital content fails to conform to the contract or cannot be supplied as agreed, or if physical merchandise arrives damaged or defective, consumers retain all remedies under Croatian and EU law (including bringing content into conformity, replacement, proportionate price reduction, or contract termination and reimbursement). Nothing in these Terms excludes or reduces those rights.

13. Refunds

Refund requests relating to purchases made directly through the Digital Gods Online Store should be sent to support@digital-gods.dev or submitted via our online withdrawal & refund form. For purchases made through Steam or another third-party marketplace, refund procedures are handled by Valve Corporation (help.steampowered.com) or the respective platform.

14. Customer Complaints (Prigovori Potrosaca)

Customers may submit written complaints concerning purchases, account access, digital content, or website services to:

Digital Gods will confirm receipt of your complaint and respond in writing within 15 days of receipt, in accordance with Article 10 of the Croatian Consumer Protection Act. Never send passwords or full payment card numbers in a complaint.

15. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use this website to:

  • Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or databases;
  • Interfere with website operation or service availability;
  • Exploit security vulnerabilities or bypass purchasing/entitlement systems;
  • Submit malicious code or automated scraping/abusive requests;
  • Commit fraud, impersonate other users, or violate applicable law.

16. Website Information and Project Development

Digital Gods publishes information about projects in different development and Early Access stages. Descriptions, screenshots, release targets, and development roadmaps may evolve during production. Any binding commitments relating to a paid store product are determined by its product description at checkout, the sales agreement, and mandatory consumer law.

17. External Links and Third-Party Platforms

Our website links to Steam, Epic Games, YouTube, SoundCloud, and payment services. These third-party services operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

18. Service Availability and Maintenance

We may perform maintenance, deploy security updates, or introduce improvements to website services. We take reasonable measures to maintain continuous access to contracted digital services and address any technical issues affecting purchased content.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Digital Gods is not responsible for losses caused solely by circumstances outside its reasonable control or by unauthorized use of an account for which it is not legally responsible. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, nor restricts mandatory consumer remedies for non-conforming digital content and goods.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect legal requirements, service changes, or website improvements. The latest revision date appears at the top of this page. Updated Terms do not retroactively remove statutory rights or alter existing consumer contracts.

21. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Croatia, subject to applicable European Union legislation and mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
